My name is Aidan Lavin and I am a member of the Cruise Lecturers Association.

Prior to retirement in 2009, I was a Detective Constable in the Merseyside Police. I dealt with everything from shoplifting to murder. In the last ten years or so of my service, I specialized as a National Drug Expert Witness. I now run my own business advising on the correct use of anti-social behavior law. I also run short courses and seminars on giving evidence in a Courtroom environment.

I joined the police because I detest bullying in all its forms. I believe criminals and criminal behavior are just other methods by which the cunning prey upon the defenceless.

As you are aware from the TV cop shows, policing is very often a mixture of laughter and tears.

Well, I can guarantee you that my 30 years of service have been full of both.​
