WILLIAM SHELDON  VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE NORTHERN GUILD OF TOASTMASTERS

 

 

William started his working life as a Junior Clerk in Barrister Chambers in Manchester. Progressing rapidly to Senior Clerk, members of chambers he clerked for,  went on to become Lords of Appeal, High Court Judges, Circuit Judges and Queens Counsel,  upon their appointment he attended the House of Lords meeting the resident Lord Chancellor on each occasion. There were many famous cases, including “Dr Death” Dr Harold Shipman and the Bolger case.  He was a representative at the National Barristers Clerks Association, the Lancashire & Manchester Courts committees. On behalf of the Bar Council he lectured to Barristers as Pupil Masters and to Pupils. Has appeared at both Manchester United and City Football clubs on numerous occasions: he officiated at the Professional Football Association Centenary Dinner. Apart from being an M.C. at various Sports Dinners, he was President of a Speakers Club, competing and winning various awards, including Humorous Speaking. Professionally trained by the National Association of Toastmasters, and is currently Vice President, rising to President next year, of the Northern Guild of Toastmasters.
