ALAN CUTLER - MURDER MYSTERY FROM AN EXPERIENCED AND ENTERTAINING SPEAKER

 

‘JUDGE, JURY, JUDGEMENT ……..JUSTICE?’

 

There is nothing that Alan Cutler likes better than having an audience in rapt attention, following his every word – either as a professional speaker or trainer. His principle subject is leadership, on which he has spoken, trained and written for several years. His latest book, Leadership Psychology – How the best leaders inspire their people was published by Kogan Page in 2014.

 

As one of the early members of the UK’s Professional Speakers Association, he views working in a training room or conference hall as a performance, involving both education and entertainment; and involvement is the key to audience appreciation. Nobody appreciates being lectured at by an ‘expert’: preferring to feel that they are encouraged to contribute to the event they are participating in. And everyone loves a murder mystery!

 

Hence, Alan is offering something different for cruise passengers – an opportunity for direct audience participation – AS A TRIAL COURT JUROR DECIDING THE FATE OF THE ACCUSED!

 

Following the first 45-minute presentation, entitled The Victorian Jury, in which Alan explores the role of juries of that time, with lots of meaty content, the second session sees him playing the part of a judge, in wig and gown, summing up the proceedings of a real-life murder case from over 100 years ago. In the third, he delivers the closing statements of both the prosecution and defence counsels – after which, audience members are asked, after due deliberation, to find the accused guilty or not guilty. The event concludes by revealing the finding of the real jury – to the fascination of the audience. Did it accord with their verdict, or not? Was justice served?
