BILL MITCHELL UNIVERSITY QUALIFICATIONS IN AGRICULTURE AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT  TEACHERS CERTIFICATE IN FE PAST NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF THE ASSOCIATION OF SPEAKERS CLUBS​

A farmer’s son with university qualifications in agriculture and business management. Also has Teacher’s Certificate in Further Education.

First part of professional life focused on advising farmers and rural enterprises in various parts of the UK on technical and business problems. This included a lengthy period as head of a team of farm business consultants covering the north of England. Was made a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Subsequently, a successful independent consultant and trainer, commonly acting as Team Leader or Project Manager, for the governments of eight ex-Communist countries in Eastern Europe. Subjects included agricultural policies, farm business management, establishment of advisory services, and transfer of research results into practice. Mainly funded by international aid organisations, e.g. the UK Department for International Development, the European Union, and the World Bank.

Public speaking and presenting have been important at all levels of the work – from talking to farmer groups in village halls, to addressing large international conferences abroad, using local interpreters.

A Past National President of the Association of Speakers Clubs. Highly experienced in training, evaluating and coaching speakers.

All lectures have some humour, and are firmly rooted in personal experience, so questions are most welcome.
