DR GARY KRAMER  B.Sc. Ph.D. FHPS  EXPERIENCED RESEARCH SCIENTIST AND SPEAKER

 

Gary obtained a Bachelor of Science and then a doctorate degree in Physical Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Sussex.  Following his studies, Gary pursued his area of interest in Canada and began work at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL).   At AECL, he expanded his career and focused his research on the field of Health Physics ultimately becoming the head of the Bioassay Laboratory and In Vivo Monitoring Facility.  Gary further expanded his research and transferred to Health Canada, taking up the position of the Head of the Human Monitoring Laboratory.  Over his research career Gary has published over 200 papers in peer reviewed scientific literature and written more than 300 technical documents.

                     

During his career in health physics, Gary served on many committees and held office in both National and International Societies.  These offices included President of the Canadian Radiation Protection Association and Member of Executive Council of the International Radiation Protection Association.  He has received several awards from National and International organizations and is a Fellow of the Health Physics Society.

 

Gary is a proficient speaker who has been presenting his work to his peers and nontechnical audiences for almost 40 years.  Throughout years of lecturing at conferences and public events, Gary has always placed a priority on creating an interactive, entertaining and informative experience for his audiences.  As a multi-disciplinary Research Scientist, and engaging speaker, he can lecture on diverse and interesting topics drawing on both his work experiences and subjects he is passionate about.
