A pioneering and multi-talented British Bengali with an extremely engaging interpersonal style, Lina is a psychotherapist, teacher, published writer and Director of a nationally acclaimed Yoga School. She was born and educated in the West Midlands [UK], with extensive first-hand knowledge and experience of Indian culture, religion and history. Lina’s first degree was in electrical/electronic engineering which led to a decade of working within the nuclear generation and electricity distribution industry (where she was the only female professional engineer within her company's technical and managerial divisions); she also has a Postgraduate management training.
Lina qualified as a Yoga teacher and trainer of Yoga teachers, which led to establishing the Praxis School of Yoga - now in its 15th year and also qualified as an adult education teacher. She now provides workshops and courses nationally in personal and professional development. She completed a Masters degree in Psychotherapy and Healing Practice (Jungian Psychology) and has been a practising psychotherapist for over 12 years.
Lina’s areas of expertise are: Yoga - philosophy, theory and practice; Health and the enhancement of well-being; Mind-body medicine (inc Ayurveda); Stress - causes, symptoms, psychobiology, and management; The human energy system (inc. the Chakras); India - religions and philosophies, social history and travel; Practical Spirituality and its place in life.
