PIERRE L. TITARD Ph.D, CPA
HIGHLY QUALIFIED AMERICAN ACADEMIC

I am a graduate of Louisiana State University (LSU), having received an undergraduate degree in accounting, an MBA, and a Ph.D in accounting, in 1961, 1962, and 1970, respectively. In 1961, I was also commissioned Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve. I entered active duty in January 1963, and served in the 4th Armored Division in Germany from March 1963 through December 1964. Upon release from active duty, I continued my service in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as Colonel in 1991. Prior to active duty I began employment as an auditor for the U.S. General Accounting Office (now Government Accountability Office). I continued with the GAO after active duty until August 1966. At that time, I started a CPA practice in Baton Rouge, teaching accounting part-time at LSU to help “keep the wolf away from the door” while I developed the practice. However, I enjoyed teaching so much that, after one semester, I became a full-time student in the Ph.D. program at LSU and part-time CPA. Since graduation, I have had a great career teaching at six universities, achieving tenure at all six and serving as department head at three. I am currently a full-time professor at Southeastern Louisiana University, with an interest in forensic accounting. I have been at Southeastern for fourteen years. I have very much enjoyed my university career over the past 43 years.
